Gut Healing Bullet Proof Hot Chocolate (Paleo Friendly, Dairy Optional)

You know those times that you need something to distract your kids? Maybe while you make dinner or watch a movie in peace?

Regardless of whether or not it’s for distraction, this Bullet Proof Hot Chocolate could be just the thing that you or your little one need. It’s junk free, healthy and easy to whip up! It can also be allergy friendly and refined sugar free.

And it only takes three steps. Just THREE steps. Anything this delicious and healthy with three steps is a winner, am I right?

I know you may be a little skeptical about the ingredients.

Yes it does taste just like creamy, delicious hot chocolate. No, your kids won’t be able to tell the difference. And if they can you should enter them into some taste testing contest because they are definitely expert level.

This hot chocolate is full of healthy fats including grass fed butter and coconut oil.  And as a bonus if you add the optional collagen powder it has a protein boost and all the healing benefits of the collagen!

So what are the benefits of these ingredients??

Health benefits of grass fed butter include:

Anti-inflammatory properties due to butyric acid

Excellent source of Vitamins A and K

MCTs that are great for supporting the immune system


Health benefits of coconut oil include:

Fatty acids that can improve brain function

Lauric Acid which can kill microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and fungi

MCTs that turn into ketones in the body which can help reduce seizures


Health Benefits of Collagen:

Bullet Proof Hot Chocolate

Makes approximately 16oz


1 heaping TBSP Grass fed Butter (or additional coconut oil)

1 heaping TBSP Coconut Oil

2 TBSP Cocoa Powder

1-2 TBSP Honey or Maple Syrup

1 TBSP Grass fed Collagen-Optional (This is my absolute favorite brand!)

2 Cups Boiling Water


1.Boil the water

2.As the water is boiling put all other ingredients in a cup or blender.

3.Once the water is boiling pour over other ingredients and blend with and immersion blender or regular blender until frothy.
